A new book by Benny Morris uses new documentation to deliver a more nuanced view of the 1948 conflict at Israel's founding. I will be reviewing the work along with Martin Gilbert's soon to-be-released "The Story of Israel"  and Bernard Avishai's "The Hebrew Republic."
